Summer School Registration

Summer School 2017

  • Full Credit Summer School: open to grade 10-12 students who can complete a full course from the regular school year to get ahead, fulfill a grad requirement or upgrade a mark (most academic grade 10-12 courses offered) 

Courses offered:

Biology 11 (am or pm), Biology 12 (am), Chemistry 11 (am or pm), Chemistry 12 (am), Communications 11 (pm), Communications 12 (pm), English 10 (am or pm), English 11 (am or pm), English 12 (am or pm), Math 10 F & P (am), Math Found 11 (am or pm), Math Found 12 (am), Math Pre-Calc 11 (am), Math Precalc 12 (am), Physics 11 (am or pm), Physics 12 (am), Planning 10 blended (am), Science 10 (am), Socials 10 (am or pm), Socials 11 (am or pm)

DATES: Monday, July 4 – Friday, August 11, 2017 Monday-Friday
TIME: 9:00am-12:00pm and/or 12:30pm-3:30pm (limited pm courses offered)
LOCATIONS: North Delta Secondary or Delta Secondary (make sure to choose ND)
FEES: $100 textbook deposit (retuned upon completion of course) – any change in original registration is subject to a $40 processing fee 
*Attendance is very important – if you miss 3 classes, you will be removed and not get credit

Skill Building Summer School

Offered to junior students who received 40-49% and their teacher recommendation in a grade 8 and/or 9 academic class. This allows you to build up your skills, so you can get a pass and move on to the next grade level. 

Courses offered: English 8/9, Socials 8/9, Math 8/9, Science 8/9
DATES: Monday, July 10 – Friday, July 28, 2017 (Monday-Friday)
TIME: 9:00am-11:40am (but depending on enrollment some classes may be placed into the 12:15-2:55pm time slot)
LOCATIONS: North Delta Secondary or Delta Secondary (make sure to choose ND)
FEES: $100 textbook deposit (retuned upon completion of course) – any change in original registration is subject to a $40 processing fee

**Note: If you need to sign up for more than 1 class (you can take a max of 2 classes), please sign up for both even though they are both in the morning – an afternoon session may be added based on enrolment and either way, the teacher will make sure you are able to complete both

 

ELL Summer School

3 week ELL courses offered to English Language Learners (open to all grades and levels) to increase English skills in reading, speaking, writing, and vocabulary.

DATES/TIMES: Session 1: July 4-21 9:00am-11:45am OR Session 2: July 24-August 11 9:00am-12:00pm
LOCATIONS: Seaquam Secondary (grades 4-12); Cougar Canyon (grades 1-3); Richardson Elementary (grades 1-7)
FEES: 1 session free for BC Students

How do I sign up for Summer School?

Instructions (for Delta Students):

Online: Use Parent Connect to register

  • Login to Parent Connect in the usual manner and select the student you wish to register 
  • Click the PickCourse tab from across the top of Parent Connect page 
  • Select Summer School from the Change School drop-down menu on the right side (It will say North Delta Secondary)
  • Click course(s) from the light blue column
  • Click the SAVE button on the left side of the page.

*If you have any problems using Parent Connect, please see the ND website homepage: http://nd.deltasd.bc.ca/ for instructions about signing on. If you still have problems, please contact ND’s office for assistance (604-596-7471).

  • Over the phone: Delta Continuing Education: 604-940-5550 

*Paying deposit fees: Parents who have registered their student will get an email telling them that they can go on to Parent Connect and make their deposit payment online (with a credit card).  If payment is not made within a couple weeks of payment notice email, you may lose your spot.  If you do not have a credit card, you may pay in person at Delta Community College.
